IMPORTANT NOTICE:
In order to complete construction of Lead & Coal near I-25, the ramps and roads indicated below will be completely closed beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, May 21 and lasting until 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. If work is not completed Monday night, crews will also close these roads and ramps overnight on Tuesday evening, May 22, beginning at 8 p.m.
Lead Avenue will be closed from Mulberry to Elm. The recommended detour for eastbound motorists is north on Broadway to Central.
Coal Avenue will be closed from Elm to Mulberry. The recommend detour for westbound motorists is north on University to Central.
NORTHBOUND I-25 Ramp 224 at Lead/Coal and Central. Motorists and emergency vehicles are encouraged to use Exit 223 -- Avenida Cesar Chavez.
SOUTHBOUND I-25 Ramp 224A at Lead/Coal. Motorists and emergency vehicles are encouraged to use Entrance 224B -- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr./Central.
Please follow all signage, obey the 25-mile-per-hour speed limit in the construction zone, and allow 15-20 minutes extra to reach your destination.
REMEMBER – CONSTRUCTION IS STILL GOING ON AT I-25, LEAD AND COAL!
While crews are working near the freeway, please allow 15-20 minutes EXTRA to reach your destination. Also, at times two lanes of roadway open on Lead or Coal in this area will be reduced to a single lane in order to finish construction. We appreciate your continued patience. Please obey the 25 miles per hour speed limit in the construction zone – it’s for your safety as well as the safety of construction workers.
